Route description:

We will leave the hotel through the main gate and turn right and immediately left in to the gas station. Just before entering the station
we will turn left again to the paved road, and ride on that road along the olive grove until it turns eastward.

At this point we will see a water reservoir in front of us, and we will continue on the road when in front of us we will be able to see “Hod Aqev” (A pointy mountain with a white trail on it).

After about 2 km of riding, the road will turn south as it crosses Sde Zin, and in front of us we can see Midredhet Ben Gurion.

We will reach the fence of Midredhet Ben Gurion and enter throgh the bicycle path. From there we will ride along the road of the Neve Zin neighborhood for about 300 meters.

We will cross the road to the southeast, and ride on the sidewalk to the entrance of Ben Gurion promenade.
When we reach the boardwalk we will ride east to Dor observatory where you can stop and enjoy overlooking the Zin valley.

From there we will continue with the boardwalk heading southwest to the David and Paula Ben-Gurion tomb estate, and after observation and rest we will retrace our steps exactly the same way we came.

 – At any point on the route you can turn around and retrace our steps.
– Do not go off the paved path and the marking on the map in the application.

Route description:

We leave the hotel heading to the gas station. Just before entering the station we will turn south and get on the new asphalt-paved boardwalk, then we will ride along it until we are crossed by a jeep road (there is a sign of the Nature Reserves Authority – “welcome to Sde Zin”). There. We will turn north and get on a path marked black.

At the end of the asphalt ramp, we will turn south and enter Sde Zin through a makeshift gate, and after about 200m we will stop for an observation of the Zin Valley at a site called “Misad Zin” which is a reconstructed site whose inhabitants preserved a part of the perfume route that passed through the place. Another interesting point is the monument to the memory of Eitan Mintz – a member of Kibbutz Sde Boker who was killed on his way to Petra in 1953 along with four friends. The monument stands about ten meters from the site and looks towards Petra.

After a short rest we will continue to the desert sculpture garden, from where you can see a combination of unique landscapes, we will reach the end of the path, from this point you can see the Zin valley, the Zin River, and the slopes of ‘Hatira’ Ridge and ‘Hazira’ Ridge (and sometimes you can also clearly see the Edom mountains in Jordan).

We will go back west on a green path until we reach a stone barrier, (if you have any strength left, take your bike over the stone barrier, and get on the new Ben Gurion Promenade, you are welcome to ride west through the scenic path to Ben Gurion’s Tomb, returning the same way you came). Before the stone fence, we will turn right towards a road that will lead us back to the asphalt boardwalk, get on the boardwalk and drive back north to the gas station and from there back to the hotel.

Please note – the terrain on this route is virgin and uncultivated, therefore the conditions of the terrain and the route change from time to time depending on weather events. For optimal and correct orientation on the route, drive according to the instructions in the application (see explanation below).

Route description:

Leave the hotel towards highway 40. Cross highway 40 carefully at the intersection and head south on the road parallel to highway 40. Cycle along the same road until you reach a road sign directing you to head west towards the terrace path (cemetery). Continue on a dirt road that starts out level a then becomes a gentle incline. After about 1KM the path starts descending towards Habesor stream, at the end of the road you will find a small grove where you can rest. From there, head north towards Nahal Haro’a. At Nahal Haro’a you will turn east and cycle inside the stream path until you reach Nahal Haro’a parking lot. Carefully cross the road back to the hotel.

The terrace path is an uphill route that in many parts of it the riding is strenuous.
